We have been hosting for 5 years and really enjoyed the experience and have made new friends with our past Students some from Spain, Switzerland , France and Thialand . We can host short term or long term Students from 11 years old to 17 years old . Monaghan town has four secondary schools so you have plenty of options for your exchange year here in Ireland . Here is a list of secondary schools located in Monaghan town. Approx 10km from my house. The school bus picks up & drops off outside my home. There is also the Monaghan Institute for anyone wanting to further their studies in a 3rd level institute. http://www.monaghancollegiateschool.ie/ http://www.stlouismonaghan.com/ http://www.stmacartanscollege.ie/ http://monaghaninstitute.ie/ Nigel works full time and I Lorretta stay at home. I love to cook and try new recipes so if you have any favourites from home you are always welcome to cook with us. We try to have a movie night once a week with all the family , Students are very welcome to join us. We also love playing cards and board games with the children. We have two children a girl (17) shona and a boy Thomas (14) so you will have plenty of things to talk about and hopefully improve your English while staying with us. Our cat loki is very friendly and likes to fetch her toys. As a family we like playing basketball or tennis outside in the back garden , or walking around the beautiful lake and going to the cinema or swimming pool both located in monaghan town . We have a caravan and like to go to the beech or vintage shows so Students are very welcome to join us on our trips away. We have a large trampoline outside for the children to play on or for me to lie on if weather is good :) . We look forward to getting to know new people and can't wait to see you.
